Thermal Imagers & Thermal Imaging Scopes

Thermal imagers display differences in infrared radiation rather than a conventional visible-light view. Explore the compact IGNIS M3 and IGNIS R3 thermal imagers alongside the NOCTIS N5L thermal imaging scope.

SELECTION GUIDE

Compare thermal imaging by detector, lens and device format.

Detector and optics

Compare detector resolution, objective lens, refresh rate and the model's stated magnification range together. M3 and R3 use a 256 × 192 detector and a 0.5–1.5× magnification range; N5L uses a 640 × 512 detector. These figures describe different aspects of the imaging system.

Viewing and configuration

Detection, identification and image detail are different measures. Weather, subject size and temperature contrast affect results. Review the exact device's display palettes, controls, power supply and mounting configuration rather than treating all thermal imagers as interchangeable.
